Paper Repeat Prescriptions
Patients who cannot use online services will need to complete the right hand side of their previous prescription and leave it at reception or post it through our mail box when we are closed. If you no longer have your paper prescription slip you can ask the receptionist to print one off for you.
Prescriptions will normally be available within two working days of being requested, however patients should note that we may be unable to issue a repeat if they need a medication review.
Medication Reviews
Those on long term medication (including those on a pathfinder) will require yearly medication reviews. You may require a blood test, urine test, blood pressure readings or foot check prior to your review so it’s important you prepare accordingly. In most cases, the date you are due for review corresponds with your birthday. Most patients will receive a text message informing them when they are due and a receptionist will confirm if you have require any additional tests prior to the review. The medication review itself is typically done over the phone. Regular reviews are imperative to your health, failure to have your medication review may lead to your prescription being reduced to a 14 or 7 days supply.
We make every effort to contact a patient prior to reducing their medication supply. It is used as a last attempt to engage with a patient in order to demonstrate the severity of not regularly checking in with a health professional when you are on long term medication. Rest assured, we will never completely take away a patients access to their medication.
Dispensing Patients
If you live near the Fillongley surgery you may wish to sign up to becoming a dispensing patient. Our Fillongley surgery is the only one to feature a dispensary where you can collect your medication directly from the practice. If you would like to sign up for this service please contact the surgery.
Dispensing patients can order via the previously mentioned methods or by calling the surgery on 02476 332 636 and requesting to speak to directly to the Fillongley branch.
Please allow two working days for any requested prescription to be dispensed and please be aware that Fillongley has varying opening hours so please check before you travel.
NHS POD – Prescription Ordering Service
The POD has sadly closed. This means that unfortunately there is no longer any service that will allow you to order prescriptions over the phone.
If you are elderly, vulnerable, disabled, or likely to be on the same medication for long periods of time then we may be able to help sort alternative arrangements to assist you in getting your medication. Please call the surgery and request to speak to a pharmacy technician or clinical pharmacist.
